About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and empower young minds to explore the creative and innovative world of product design. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging D&T lessons, fostering students' design thinking, problem-solving skills, and technical abilities in the field of product development and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging D&T lessons for A-Level students in line with exam board specifications and the college's academic standards, with a focus on product design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore product design concepts and applications with curiosity and enthusiasm.
• Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the college's vision and the latest advancements in D&T education, incorporating emerging technologies and real-world applications.
• Create a supportive and stimulating learning environment where all students feel valued and challenged to reach their full potential.
• Build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting a growth mindset and a belief in their design and making abilities.
• Play an active role in the department, including contributing to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental meetings.
• Participate in college-wide events and initiatives, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider college community.

The Ideal Candidate:

• A qualified D&T Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and fostering their understanding of design and technology principles, particularly in product design.
• Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for D&T, with a strong understanding of design processes, materials, manufacturing techniques, and CAD/CAM software.
• Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
• A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
