Job Summary
A prestigious prep school in Bexley is seeking a passionate and skilled Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students with additional educational needs. This role offers the opportunity to work in a nurturing and stimulating environment, helping pupils achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, ensuring their academic and social needs are met.
  • Work closely with class teachers to adapt lesson plans and deliver differentiated learning activities.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Use creative and engaging methods to help students overcome barriers to learning.
  • Support students in developing confidence, independence, and positive relationships with their peers.
  • Collaborate with the SENCo, teaching staff, and parents to ensure a consistent and effective approach to student support.
  • Contribute to a warm and inclusive school environment by promoting the school’s values and ethos.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience as an LSA or in a similar SEN support role, ideally in a prep or primary school setting.
  • A strong understanding of SEN strategies and best practices, particularly for conditions such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are advantageous but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS check and the legal right to work in the UK.
