Your Role
As a Maths and Science Teacher, you will:
- Design and deliver engaging lessons in Maths and Science tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN, including autism, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
- Develop differentiated teaching materials and strategies that allow students to access and succeed in the curriculum.
- Use creative approaches to make Maths and Science lessons accessible, relatable, and inspiring for all learners.
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, families, and the SENCo.
- Offer one-to-one and small group support, addressing specific learning challenges.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment, promoting both academic achievement and personal growth.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and external specialists to provide a holistic approach to student development.
- Contribute to individual education plans (IEPs) and attend meetings with parents and external professionals as required.
Who You Are
We’re looking for a teacher who is:
- Qualified (QTS) or holds an equivalent teaching certification.
- Experienced in teaching Maths and Science at the secondary school level.
- Skilled in supporting students with SEN, particularly those with ASD, SEMH, and learning disabilities.
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable in their teaching approach, with the ability to tailor lessons to individual learning needs.
- Knowledgeable in Maths and Science, with the ability to present complex topics in a clear, engaging manner.
- Passionate about creating an inclusive and inspiring educational experience for students with additional needs.
- A strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
- Committed to making a real difference in the lives of students with SEN.
