Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored one-to-one or small group support to students with additional learning needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Work across the curriculum to address individual learning, social, and emotional needs.
  • Develop and adapt learning materials and strategies to align with each student’s objectives.
  • Encourage positive behavior and support students in building confidence and independence.
  • Maintain open communication with parents, teachers, and other staff to monitor and share student progress.
  • Contribute to a safe and supportive school environment by adhering to safeguarding and child protection policies.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting.
  • Understanding of strategies to support students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to work independently when required.
  • A strong commitment to promoting the well-being and success of all students.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) in a primary or secondary setting.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum and the ability to support students across various subjects.
