Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering engaging French lessons across all key stages: Design and deliver a stimulating and engaging French curriculum that covers all aspects of language acquisition, from grammar and vocabulary to speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and engage students in interactive activities, authentic materials, and cultural exploration.
- Encouraging students to develop their language skills: Foster a love of language learning and provide students with opportunities to develop their communication skills in French through a range of activities, including speaking practice, listening exercises, reading comprehension, and creative writing.
- Organizing cultural activities and language exchange programs: Enrich the learning experience by organizing cultural events, film screenings, and language exchange programs that immerse students in the French language and culture.
- Supporting students' preparation for language exams: Provide effective guidance and support to students preparing for GCSE and A-Level French exams, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
- Collaborating with colleagues to promote language learning across the curriculum: Work collaboratively with other teachers to integrate language learning into other subject areas, promoting cross-curricular learning and enhancing students' overall language skills.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified French Teacher with QTS: Hold a recognized teaching qualification and demonstrate a strong understanding of the National Curriculum for Modern Foreign Languages.
- Native speaker or fluent in French: Possess native or near-native fluency in French, with excellent pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary.
- Passionate about language learning and cultural exchange: Demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for language learning and cultural exchange, with a desire to inspire and motivate young people to explore the French-speaking world.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. Communicate effectively and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment: Create a supportive and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation, effort, and achievement.
