Job Summary

An Outstanding-rated secondary school in Hillingdon is seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join their thriving team on a full-time, permanent basis. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with diverse special educational needs (SEN).
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and other support staff to provide individualized learning plans (ILPs) that address academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, ensuring appropriate adjustments to teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student confidence and independence.
  • Work closely with parents, caregivers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Adhere to the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEN in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies, IEPs, and behaviour management techniques.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and the ability to inspire and motivate students.

Desirable:

  • Additional qualifications in SEN, such as the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO).
  • Experience working with specific needs, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or sensory impairments.
