Job Summary

A high-performing and inclusive secondary school in Islington is seeking a SEN Intervention Specialist to develop and deliver targeted support programs for students with special educational needs (SEN). Responsibilities and Duties

• Monitor and evaluate the progress of students receiving interventions, making adjustments to strategies and programs where necessary.
• Provide one-on-one and group support for students, tailoring approaches to meet individual needs.
• Assist in creating and maintaining detailed records of student progress, ensuring compliance with the school’s SEN policies and statutory requirements.
• Participate in staff training sessions, sharing expertise and promoting best practices in SEN provision.
• Act as a mentor and positive role model for students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications and Skills

• A proven background in working with children or young people with SEN, preferably in an educational setting.
• Experience in designing and delivering academic and emotional intervention programs.
• Strong understanding of SEN strategies, including knowledge of effective behavior management and inclusive teaching practices.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents.
• A positive, proactive approach with a passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
• A clear enhanced DBS check and the legal right to work in the UK.
