Responsibilities and Duties
- Design, plan, and implement targeted intervention programs to support students with specific SEN needs, including academic, social, and emotional development.
- Collaborate closely with the SENCo, teachers, and external professionals to ensure effective and cohesive student support.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of students receiving interventions, making adjustments to strategies and programs where necessary.
- Provide one-on-one and group support for students, tailoring approaches to meet individual needs.
- Assist in creating and maintaining detailed records of student progress, ensuring compliance with the school’s SEN policies and statutory requirements.
- Participate in staff training sessions, sharing expertise and promoting best practices in SEN provision.
- Act as a mentor and positive role model for students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- A proven background in working with children or young people with SEN, preferably in an educational setting.
- Experience in designing and delivering academic and emotional intervention programs.
- Strong understanding of SEN strategies, including knowledge of effective behavior management and inclusive teaching practices.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents.
- A positive, proactive approach with a passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
- A clear enhanced DBS check and the legal right to work in the UK.
