A leading secondary school in Wandsworth is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Technology (DT) Teacher to join their thriving department on a full-time, permanent basis. The Role:
- Deliver engaging and effective DT lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, encompassing a range of specialisms (e.g., resistant materials, product design, textiles, food technology, graphics).
- Develop and implement a differentiated curriculum that caters to diverse learning styles, fosters creativity, and promotes practical skills development.
- Assess student progress through coursework, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the DT department to share resources, best practices, and ensure a cohesive learning experience for all students.
- Maintain a well-organized and safe learning environment within the DT workshops and classrooms.
- Remain abreast of current trends and technological advancements in DT education.
Candidate Profile:
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Design & Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
- Demonstrate proven experience teaching DT at the secondary school level (Key Stages 3-5).
- Exhibit strong subject knowledge across a range of DT specialisms.
- Possess excellent practical skills and the ability to guide students in the safe use of tools and equipment.
- Be committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can develop their creativity and technical abilities.
