Job Summary

A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Wandsworth is looking for a dedicated SEN Behaviour Mentor to provide support to students with behavioural challenges and additional needs. This is a key role for someone passionate about improving students' emotional well-being and promoting positive behaviour.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide targeted mentoring for students with emotional and behavioural needs, fostering self-regulation and resilience.
  • Develop and implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs.
  • Deliver one-on-one and group interventions, focusing on social skills, emotional well-being, and conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, the SENCo, and parents to create consistent support plans.
  • Monitor and document student progress, sharing insights and recommendations during meetings.
  • Promote an inclusive learning environment that encourages positive interactions and engagement.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for students, building strong relationships to support their overall development.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in a similar role supporting students with SEN and behavioural challenges.
  • A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and emotional support techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Enhanced DBS check and the legal right to work in the UK.
