An outstanding specialist school in Bromley is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Year 2 Class Teacher to join their dedicated team. Responsibilities and Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons to meet the needs of Year 2 students with SEN.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCo, therapists, and families.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom atmosphere to support personal and academic growth.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to address diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress, adapting teaching strategies to maximize achievement.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff to provide a well-rounded educational experience.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, ensuring open communication about student progress and wellbeing.
- Participate in school initiatives, staff training, and development sessions to stay current with SEN best practices.
- Contribute to the school’s ethos of inclusion, positivity, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching students with SEN, preferably in a specialist or inclusive setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEN strategies, behaviour management, and inclusive teaching practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Creativity, empathy, and patience to inspire and support students with varied needs.
- Commitment to professional development and a passion for SEN education.
- Enhanced DBS check and legal right to work in the UK.
